BLACK HISTORY – MARTIN LUTHER KING, A SHORT VERSION
Martin Luther King was born on January 15th 1929 in Georgia. There he lived with his family and friends. In 1935 Martin was told that because he was black, he no longer could play with his friends, whom were white. Nobody likes to hear that, but obviously Martin Luther got over it and moved on. In 1948 he graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta. Five years later, in 1953, he married Coretta Scott. The next year Martin became a pastor of his own church in Montgomery.

After Rosa Parks refusing to give up her seat to a white man on the bus, Martin led a boycott of the busses in Montgomery for two years. In 1963 he led a march in Washington on August 28th, and from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial he gave his famous “I Have A Dream” speech. In 64 Martin Luther King was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

OneNote
Some weeks ago I was introduced to OneNote. I actually got the whole package with Word and all that stuff free from my school. I was super exited! At first I thought OneNote was a bit complicated and I didn’t understood why we just couldn’t use the normal Word document, but now I understand. OneNote is genius and very practical. If you put all your documents there, you’re able to search them up. Now that is all I use:)
This Is England
We saw the film “This is England” in class a while ago. The movie shocked me a bit and it was not like the typical and “regular” movies we usually watch. It is about a boy, I would guess around 12 years old. He lives in England, and gets bullied a lot at school. This has a huge impact on his life. Also the fact that the little boy lost his father in the Falkland was is also hard for him.

One day when he walks home from school, he meets a gang of skinheads. After a while they start to hang a lot together, and they become good friends. The friendship is being tested when one day, one of the leaders in the gang, shows us how big of an issue the racism in England was at that time.

NORTHERN IRELAND

Cecilie gave us a lecture about Northern Ireland and the conflict there. Northern Ireland is located on the northern part of the Irish island and is in union with the United Kingdom. They have been a part of United Kingdom since 1922. The capital is Belfast and the official languages are English and Irish.
The conflict involved the IRA (Irish Republican Army) and the British. In 1923 the British invaded Northern Ireland because they meant that they should be a part of Great Britain. The IRA’s original goal when this happened was to get all of the British establishments out of Ireland and get up an independent Irish government.
The conflict in Northern Ireland had political and religious roots from old times. Some people in Northern Ireland, especially the Protestants, believed it should remain part of the United Kingdom. Others, and then particularly the Catholics, meant it should leave the UK and become a part of Ireland.

It's now over 20 years since the war..

The Falkland War was a war fought between The United Kingdom and Argentina in 1982. As you may understand, the war took place at the Falkland Islands in the South Atlantic Ocean east of Argentina, which consists of to larger, and a number of small islands.
The people who lived on the islands were european settlers and explorers who has land there. Before the Europeann nations started their colonization, nobody lived there.
The war itself didn't last for too long. It started on the 2th of April with a Argentine invasion, and ended 14th of June, when they had to surrender.
At this time the Falkland territories belonged to the British.
As a result of the war, nearly 900 men lost their lives.
